Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sheffield. This is a full-time opportunity starting in September 2025, ideal for someone who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of pupils with diverse needs. As an SEN TA, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs.
Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
- Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual needs.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour.
- Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to learning support.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- A full and updated CV, with 10 years explanations for any gaps in employment.
