Join an Outstanding Primary School in Tower Hamlets as an Early Years Teaching Assistant!

Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £90–£105 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 am – 4:00 pm
Contract Type: Long-Term, Full-Time

 

About the Role:

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver targeted support and ensure children’s academic, emotional, and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Morning Support: Provide tailored 1:1 and small group assistance for children with SEMH (including ADHD and self-harming behaviours).

  • Afternoon Flexibility: Support pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2, adapting to the needs of various year groups.

  • Inclusive Learning: Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Collaborative Support: Work with teaching staff to implement and monitor personalised learning plans.

  • Relationship Building: Foster strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their well-being and confidence.

  • Personal Care: Support with nappy changing and other personal care tasks when required.

✅ What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as an Early Years TA, Nursery Assistant, or in a similar support role (preferred).

  • Confident supporting children with SEN and personal care needs.

  • A proactive, resilient, and nurturing approach.

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, SEN, and child protection policies.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a classroom setting.


Important:

This role requires a clear Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one). All applicants will be subject to comprehensive safer recruitment checks.
