Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sheffield this September. This is a rewarding opportunity for an SEN TA who thrives on helping children with diverse learning needs reach their full potential.
Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEN, ensuring access to learning in a safe and inclusive environment.
- Assist the class teacher with planning, adapting, and delivering lessons based on individual needs and EHCPs.
- Foster positive relationships to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and behavioural development.
- Monitor progress and help implement appropriate intervention strategies in collaboration with SENCOs and teachers.
- Encourage independence and build confidence in learners through consistent, patient support.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN in school or care settings is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A nurturing and resilient approach to working with children who may display challenging behaviour.
- Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained.
