Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Barnsley
Salary: Up to £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Barnsley. This SEN TA role is ideal for someone who is committed to inclusive education and eager to support children with diverse learning needs from September.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Working alongside teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies.
  • creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assisting with daily classroom tasks and adapting materials to meet individual needs.

To be successful in this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will need:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
  • Strong communication skills and a flexible attitude.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the past 10 years, with any employment gaps explained.
