Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant

Salary: £88.94 – £104.84 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming school in Barton-upon-Humber. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to make a real impact on their learning and development.

About the Role:

As a Primary Teaching Assistant (TA), you will support the class teacher in delivering high-quality education, working with children in groups or on a 1:1 basis. You’ll help with planning and preparing classroom activities, encourage student participation, and provide additional support to children who need it most.

Key Responsibilities for Primary TA:

  • Assist with the delivery of engaging and creative lessons.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils who require extra help.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students with literacy, numeracy, and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to adapt learning materials.
  • Monitor student progress and support behaviour management.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach to learning support.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (desirable but not essential).
  • A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
