Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Worthing
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking for a committed and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to support students at a school in Worthing from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and dedicated to helping all learners thrive.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with students who require additional learning support due to autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, or other complex needs. You will play a vital role in helping them build confidence, achieve progress, and feel valued within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities of SEN TA:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to students with SEN.
  • Implement and adapt activities based on individual education and behaviour plans.
  • Encourage positive interactions, independence, and confidence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to support personalised learning.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to colleagues and parents.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, autism, ADHD, or similar needs.
  • A calm, patient, and understanding approach to support and communication.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • A relevant qualification in education, SEN, or childcare is desirable but not essential.
  • A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
