Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Hailsham
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

GSL Education are currently recruiting a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community in Hailsham. Starting this September, this SEN TA position is ideal for someone committed to making a positive impact in inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to pupils' individual learning needs.
  • Assist in implementing and reviewing Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Encourage student participation and celebrate achievements to build self-esteem.
  • Help create a calm, safe and engaging classroom environment.
  • Work in partnership with teachers, SENCOs, and families to support holistic development.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Prior experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
  • A calm, adaptable, and empathetic approach to supporting children.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
