For this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will be required to provide day-to-day support, delivering 1:1 and small group sessions as well as helping to plan lessons by preparing resources and materials. You will be required to work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to provide a happy and fun environment for your key child to learn and enjoy attending school.
Key responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant role include:
- Working one-to-one or in small groups with pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
- Supporting the development of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Adapting classroom activities and materials to suit individual needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Building trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with SEND preferred, not essential (in school, care, or voluntary settings)
- Calm, adaptable, and empathetic nature
- Genuine desire to support inclusive education
- Confidence in working with pupils with special needs
- A strong interest in inclusive education and supporting children with additional needs

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
