Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Sheffield – S12
Salary Range: £95 - £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
GSL Education are seeking compassionate and resilient individuals to join a supportive school in Sheffield as a Behaviour Mentor. This is a fantastic opportunity for those passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who face behavioural and emotional challenges.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in guiding students towards positive behavioural choices and emotional growth. Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams, you will support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and help them thrive both socially and academically.
Job Responsibilities of Behaviour Mentor:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural needs.
- Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage self-esteem and resilience.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and personalised interventions.
- Support classroom engagement and promote a positive learning environment.
- Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
Job Requirements for Behaviour Mentor:
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural difficulties or SEMH needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practices, de-escalation techniques, or restorative approaches is desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Youth Work, Psychology, or similar fields are advantageous.
- A current, detailed CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
