Nursery Practitioner
Location: St Leonards
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start date: September 2025
Contract type: Full-time, Long-term

Are you a passionate Nursery Practitioner eager to support children’s development in a caring and dynamic early years setting?

GSL Education are looking for a committed Nursery Practitioner to join early years teams in St Leonards from September 2025. This full-time role offers the chance to contribute to the nurturing and educational growth of young children in a welcoming environment.

In this role, you will support the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum by assisting with activities that promote children’s learning, social skills, and wellbeing.

To be a successful Nursery Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with planning and delivering play-based learning activities in line with EYFS
  • Supporting children’s emotional, physical, and intellectual development
  • Observing, recording, and assessing children’s progress
  • Ensuring a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for all children
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction

Requirements for a Nursery Practitioner:

  • Relevant qualification in early years (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred)
  • Experience working with children aged 0-5 in a nursery or early years setting as a Nursery or Early Years Practitioner or similar
  • Understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, caring, and reliable with a proactive approach
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
