GSL Education are seeking a confident and proactive Cover Supervisor (CS) to join a dynamic secondary school in Worksop. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students’ learning journeys while gaining valuable classroom experience and making a real impact in education.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You’ll deliver pre-prepared lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged and on task. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers or individuals passionate about education who are looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor (CS)

  • Deliver set lessons and ensure students understand the objectives and tasks.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Provide support and encouragement to students, helping them stay focused and motivated.
  • Liaise with teaching staff to provide feedback on student progress and classroom experiences.
  • Supervise students during break times or transitions as required.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.

Requirements of a Cover Supervisor (CS)

  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students.
  • A genuine interest in education and student development.
  • A degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
