Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary Range: £95 - £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking compassionate, dedicated, and proactive individuals to join a supportive school in Chapeltown as a SEN Teaching Assistant (TA). This is a fulfilling opportunity to support students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and speech and language needs.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will be instrumental in helping students access the curriculum, develop essential life skills, and build confidence in a nurturing and inclusive environment. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure each child receives the tailored support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Assist in the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs where required.
  • Encourage independence, resilience, and social development.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to teaching staff and parents.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN or additional needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
  • Understanding of inclusive education and differentiated teaching strategies.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years and an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
