Full-Time PE Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton, Hampshire (SO15)
GSL Education are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Southampton, Hampshire. This full-time role is set to begin in October 2025, with flexibility depending on the availability of the successful candidate. The position offers the potential for a permanent or fixed-term contract following a successful probation period.
Responsibilities of a PE Teacher:
- Deliver engaging and inclusive Physical Education lessons across Key Stages.
- Promote physical fitness, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among students.
- Plan and implement a broad and balanced PE curriculum that caters to all abilities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and motivating learning environment.
- Contribute to extracurricular sports clubs, teams, and school events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s sports provision and student engagement.
- Uphold high standards of teaching, behaviour, and safeguarding.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A strong passion for Physical Education and student development.
- Experience teaching PE at the secondary level (Early Careers Teachers are warmly encouraged to apply).
- Ability to deliver creative and inspiring lessons that engage all learners.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding, student welfare, and continuous professional development.
- An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
