Full-Time Science Teacher – Secondary School in Portsmouth, Hampshire

GSL Education are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Portsmouth, Hampshire. This full-time role is set to commence in October 2025, with flexibility depending on the availability of the successful candidate. The school welcomes applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators.

Responsibilities of a Science Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Science lessons across Key Stages, fostering curiosity and a love for learning.
  • Plan and implement a curriculum that supports students’ academic progress and scientific understanding.
  • Monitor and assess student achievement, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Science department and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that enrich the student experience.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and pedagogy.

Required Qualifications for a Science Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A strong subject knowledge and passion for Science.
  • Experience teaching Science at the secondary level (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
  • Ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
