Salary Range: £160 - £250 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are looking to appoint a dedicated SEMH Teacher to work in specialist schools across Doncaster. Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher is a position suited to teachers who thrive in a nurturing environment and are confident in delivering tailored lessons to support the emotional and academic growth of students with SEMH challenges.
As an SEMH Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering personalised lessons across a range of subjects, focusing on engagement and accessibility.
- Creating a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Supporting students in developing social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
- Working collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external agencies.
- Using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to manage behaviour positively.
- Monitoring progress and adapting teaching to meet individual EHCP targets.
Skills & Requirements for SEMH Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Previous experience working with pupils with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- Understanding of attachment, trauma, and restorative practices.
- Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps clearly explained.
