GSL Education is delighted to offer a full-time Cover Supervisor position at a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Fareham. This is a permanent role, available from September 2025, following a successful probation period.

Whether you are a graduate with aspirations of becoming a teacher, or someone with previous experience working with young people, this role offers the ideal stepping stone into the classroom.

About the School:

Located in the heart of Fareham, the school has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality education in a nurturing and inclusive environment. With a focus on respect, ambition, and resilience, the school prides itself on its values-driven culture and commitment to student development. Pupils are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and personal growth, supported by a dedicated teaching and pastoral team.

The school’s ethos centres around preparing students not only academically but also socially and emotionally for life beyond the classroom. This is a school where all staff are valued, and where teamwork, continuous professional development, and student success are at the core of its vision.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the school by:

  • Supervising classes during the absence of the regular class teacher.
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson content and ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Reporting on student progress, participation, and any behavioural issues.
  • Building positive relationships with students and fostering a calm and productive learning environment.
  • Supporting the wider school team with administrative tasks, supervision duties, or extracurricular activities where required.

This position is ideal for those considering a career in teaching, as it provides an opportunity to develop classroom management skills, understand curriculum delivery, and build meaningful connections with both students and staff.
