As an SEMH Teacher, you’ll make a real difference by providing personalised learning and behaviour support that helps students thrive academically and emotionally.

As an SEMH Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet SEMH pupils’ individual needs.
  • Promoting emotional wellbeing, social development, and academic progress.
  • Implementing behaviour strategies and working from EHCPs and support plans.
  • Collaborating with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • Fostering a nurturing and structured learning environment.
  • Tracking student progress and contributing to review meetings and reports.

Requirements for an SEMH Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching SEMH pupils.
  • Effective behaviour management and strong classroom presence.
  • Patience, empathy, and a solution-focused mindset.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and safeguarding.
  • An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, explaining any gaps).
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
