GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and understanding SEMH Teacher to work in schools across Crofton. We offer both short-term flexibility and long-term stability to suit your experience and availability.

In this role of Social, Emotional & Mental Health Teacher, you will lead the learning and emotional development of students with SEMH needs, creating a safe and positive environment that fosters growth and resilience.

As an SEMH Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality, individualised lessons tailored to SEMH learners.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships to support student progress.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies and personalised learning plans.
  • Collaborating with support staff, SENCOs and other professionals.
  • Supporting pupils with social skills, emotional regulation, and engagement.
  • Monitoring academic and behavioural progress and adapting your approach accordingly.

Skills & Requirements for an SEMH Teacher:

  • Hold QTS with experience in SEMH or similar specialist settings.
  • Strong classroom management skills with a calm and nurturing attitude.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and resilience.
  • Awareness of trauma-informed practices and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Up-to-date CV covering the past ten years with any gaps explained.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
