GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and understanding SEMH Teacher to work in schools across Crofton. We offer both short-term flexibility and long-term stability to suit your experience and availability.
In this role of Social, Emotional & Mental Health Teacher, you will lead the learning and emotional development of students with SEMH needs, creating a safe and positive environment that fosters growth and resilience.
As an SEMH Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality, individualised lessons tailored to SEMH learners.
- Building strong, trusting relationships to support student progress.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies and personalised learning plans.
- Collaborating with support staff, SENCOs and other professionals.
- Supporting pupils with social skills, emotional regulation, and engagement.
- Monitoring academic and behavioural progress and adapting your approach accordingly.
Skills & Requirements for an SEMH Teacher:
- Hold QTS with experience in SEMH or similar specialist settings.
- Strong classroom management skills with a calm and nurturing attitude.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and resilience.
- Awareness of trauma-informed practices and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Up-to-date CV covering the past ten years with any gaps explained.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
