In this rewarding role of SEMH Teacher, you will plan and deliver personalised learning for pupils with SEMH needs, helping them engage positively with their education while building confidence and emotional resilience.
As an SEMH Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons to students with SEMH needs.
- Creating a safe and supportive learning environment tailored to individual needs.
- Working collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and external specialists.
- Supporting students' social development and emotional regulation.
- Implementing EHCP targets and behaviour plans effectively.
- Monitoring progress and adapting teaching approaches accordingly.
Skills & Requirements for an SEMH Teacher:
- Hold QTS and have experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
- Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills.
- Compassion, patience, and resilience in challenging situations.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding principles.
- An up-to-date CV with a 10-year history (explaining any employment gaps).
- A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
