Salary: £94 – £115 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education is seeking enthusiastic and driven PE Graduates to work as Cover Supervisors and Teaching Assistants in secondary schools across Barnsley. This is an ideal opportunity to inspire young people, develop essential teaching skills, and make a real difference in students’ lives.

Your Role as a PE Graduate:

  • Lead pre-planned lessons as a Cover Supervisor during teacher absences

  • Assist PE departments in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons and supporting extracurricular activities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group academic and behaviour support

  • Promote participation, discipline, and teamwork among pupils

  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related subject

  • A passion for sport, physical wellbeing, and youth development

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and classroom management skills

  • A proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential)

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
