Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Chapeltown
Salary: £160 - £250 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and driven SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Chapeltown. This is your chance to play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of students with special educational needs in a setting that truly values every learner.
As an SEN Teacher, you'll collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to deliver personalised learning experiences. Your role will involve designing adapted lessons, implementing effective interventions, and nurturing a classroom atmosphere where pupils feel confident, engaged, and empowered to reach their goals—both academically and socially.
Responsibilities of the SEN Teacher:
- Design and implement tailored learning activities to meet a range of needs, including autism, SEMH, and other SEND profiles.
- Differentiate instruction to align with each student’s abilities, interests, and learning pace.
- Foster emotional well-being and support the development of positive behaviours and social interaction skills.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, families, and external professionals to provide cohesive and effective support.
- Track pupil progress through regular assessment and adjust strategies to maximise learning outcomes.
- Ensure a secure, inclusive classroom environment that upholds safeguarding and promotes a sense of belonging.
- Cultivate an engaging and stimulating learning space that inspires curiosity and active participation.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification, such as QTS or an equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching or supporting students with special educational needs, ideally within specialist or inclusive settings.
- Solid knowledge of SEN practices, current SEND legislation, and inclusive educational strategies.
- Empathetic, flexible, and responsive in meeting the unique needs of individual learners.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- A clear commitment to upholding safeguarding principles and ensuring student well-being.
- Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS checks (preferably registered on the Update Service).
