Job Title: Attendance Officer
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £110 - £130 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time
Are you a proactive and detail-oriented Attendance Officer with a strong understanding of attendance procedures and a passion for supporting student success?
GSL Education are currently recruiting for a committed Attendance Officer to work full-time across multiple school sites in Chesterfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team and play a key role in improving student attendance and engagement.
Key Responsibilities of Attendance Officer:
- Monitor and analyse daily attendance data using school systems.
- Identify patterns and trends in attendance and produce detailed reports for senior leadership.
- Conduct home visits to follow up on persistent absences (must be a driver with business insurance).
- Liaise with parents/carers to address attendance concerns and provide support.
- Work closely with school staff and external agencies to implement attendance improvement strategies.
- Promote a positive attendance culture across all school sites.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date attendance records are maintained.
Requirements for Attendance Officer:
- Proven experience in a school or attendance-related role.
- Strong knowledge of attendance legislation and best practices.
- Confident in data analysis and using school systems (e.g., SIMS) and Microsoft Office.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence with business insurance (travel between sites required).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain confidentiality.
- A positive, solution-focused attitude and a team player mindset.
- An up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
