Job Title: Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant

Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)

Role Overview:
As a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you’ll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH needs. Your role will be instrumental in helping students develop emotional regulation, build resilience, and achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities of Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA):
- Guide students through learning and emotional development.
- Use strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Encourage self-esteem, confidence, and positive relationships.
- Apply calm, proactive techniques to manage challenging behaviour.
- Help maintain a consistent and safe learning environment.
- Work alongside therapists, counsellors, and SEN staff.
- Contribute to EHCPs and behaviour reports.
- Use your own vehicle to assist with off-site activities or transitions (business insurance required).
Requirements for Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA):
- Full-time commitment with reliability and consistency.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs in a primary school setting.
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or SEN Support (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence with business insurance (essential).
- Skilled in positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Empathetic, resilient, and proactive.
- Updated CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
