Rate: £95 – £120 per day (Depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

  • Support the creation and implementation of tailored IEPs aligned with individual student needs.
  • Use varied teaching methods to suit different learning styles and maintain engagement.
  • Monitor progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to aid student development.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported.
  • Collaborate with staff to share strategies and ensure cohesive, inclusive learning.
  • Offer targeted support to help students overcome academic and personal challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behaviour.

Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

  • Previous experience working in an SEN or mainstream school setting is highly desirable.
  • A good understanding of SEN including autism, ADHD, speech and language, or SEMH.
  • A caring, resilient, and proactive approach to working with vulnerable children.
  • Ability to follow direction but also show initiative when supporting learning.
  • A genuine passion for working with young learners and supporting their development.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
