Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Staveley
Salary Range: £95 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who need additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them develop the confidence and skills to engage fully in their learning journey.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted interventions to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Build trusting, consistent relationships with students to encourage personal growth and resilience.
  • Support students in the classroom and in small groups, helping them stay focused and engaged.
  • Collaborate with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies to develop effective support strategies.
  • Provide clear guidance and set high expectations to help students achieve both personal and academic goals.
  • Monitor and document student progress, contributing to reviews and support plans.
  • Act as a role model, demonstrating respectful and positive behaviour at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Sound understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs in young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
  • Passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning and succeed.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, psychology, or similar are desirable.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
