Salary Range: £95 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are thrilled to be seeking a passionate Behaviour Mentor to join an inspiring school community in Castleford. This role offers a meaningful chance to transform students’ lives through encouragement, patience, and unwavering support.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide targeted support to students who face behavioural and emotional challenges. Your mentorship will guide them toward positive choices, improved self-confidence, and greater success within and beyond the classroom.
Job Responsibilities:
- Offer one-to-one and small group mentoring to help students manage and improve their behaviour.
- Develop and implement tailored intervention strategies that promote positive social and emotional development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to maintain an inclusive and supportive school culture.
- Build strong, trusting relationships to become a reliable and influential figure in students’ lives.
- Track progress, maintaining accurate records and providing regular updates to staff and parents or carers.
- Support classroom activities, encouraging engagement and positive participation.
- Liaise with external agencies and families to create a holistic support network for each student.
Job Requirements:
- Prior experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Teaching Assistant, or similar pastoral role within education or youth services.
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management techniques and restorative approaches.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and staff.
- Resilience, patience, and empathy when supporting young people facing challenges.
- A genuine passion for promoting the well-being and development of children and young people.
- A relevant qualification in youth work, psychology, education, or related fields is desirable.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
