Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Crofton
Salary Range: £95 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

If so, GSL Education are delighted to be seeking a passionate and committed Behaviour Mentor to join a dynamic school community in Crofton. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting students who need extra guidance to reach their full potential.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional support to overcome behavioural and emotional challenges. You’ll help build their confidence, encourage positive choices, and equip them with vital life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-to-one and small group mentoring to students with behavioural difficulties or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Implement tailored intervention strategies to encourage positive behavioural changes.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Foster trusting relationships with students to become a dependable and approachable mentor.
- Monitor student progress, keeping accurate records and providing feedback to relevant stakeholders.
- Support the wider classroom environment when necessary, promoting positive behaviour across the school.
- Engage with parents, carers, and external agencies as part of a holistic approach to student support.
Job Requirements:
- Experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, or in a similar pastoral or support role within an educational or youth setting.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young people.
- Resilience, adaptability, and a calm, patient nature when managing challenging behaviour.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- A relevant qualification in youth work, psychology, education, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
