Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Epworth
Salary Range: £95 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are thrilled to be recruiting an enthusiastic and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming and supportive school in Epworth. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on creating positive change and building meaningful relationships with students facing behavioural and emotional challenges.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support students who require extra help to engage fully with their education. You’ll serve as a role model, guiding them towards improved behaviour and emotional well-being, helping them develop skills to succeed both in and beyond the classroom.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group mentoring for students with behavioural or emotional difficulties.
- Support students in developing coping mechanisms, confidence, and social skills.
- Work closely with teachers and the pastoral team to implement personalised behaviour strategies.
- Encourage positive behaviour and model effective conflict resolution.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students, acting as a reliable and empathetic point of support.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavioural interventions.
- Assist with creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all pupils.
- Collaborate with families and external agencies where appropriate to ensure cohesive support.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience working in a similar Behaviour Mentor, Youth Work, or Pastoral Support role, especially with students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young people.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and restorative approaches.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure and in challenging situations.
- A flexible, adaptable approach to meet the evolving needs of individual students and the wider school.
- A genuine commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
