Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA)
Location: Staveley
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to join a supportive and inclusive educational setting in Staveley. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on pupils who benefit from consistent, structured emotional and academic support.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils facing emotional and behavioural challenges, working to help them access learning and develop social and emotional resilience in a safe, supportive environment.
Responsibilities as a SEMH TA:
- Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Support students in managing emotions, building confidence, and engaging with learning.
- Assist in implementing behaviour plans and support strategies.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to promote inclusion.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and nurturing classroom environment.
Requirements for SEMH TA:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to managing behaviour.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years (with no unexplained gaps).
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
