Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA)
Location: Dinnington
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to join a supportive school environment in Dinnington. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students who require emotional and behavioural support.

Role Overview:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide individualised and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to engage in learning, regulate their emotions, and develop social skills.

Responsibilities as a SEMH TA:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Promote a positive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Help manage behaviour and encourage emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies.
  • Encourage pupils to develop resilience, independence, and self-confidence.

Requirements for SEMH TA:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs is essential.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach.
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years (with no unexplained gaps).
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
