Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA)

Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to work in a welcoming and inclusive school in Chapeltown. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of students facing emotional and behavioural challenges.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with SEMH needs, helping them develop coping strategies, emotional awareness, and academic engagement. You will play a vital role in creating a stable, safe, and supportive environment.
Responsibilities as a SEMH TA:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Help manage behaviour using consistent, calm, and structured approaches.
- Foster strong relationships with pupils to build trust and confidence.
- Support classroom routines and contribute to a positive learning atmosphere.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and external professionals.
Requirements for SEMH TA:
- Previous experience supporting students with SEMH or behavioural difficulties.
- A calm, empathetic, and patient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years (with no unexplained gaps).
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
