Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA)
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to work in a supportive educational setting in Sheffield. This role is ideal for someone who can build positive relationships and support students to overcome emotional and behavioural challenges.

Role Overview:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals to help students with SEMH needs succeed academically and emotionally in a structured and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities as a SEMH TA:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Support students in managing their emotions, behaviour, and social interactions.
  • Foster a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Implement individual support plans and behaviour strategies.
  • Collaborate with school staff and external professionals to support pupil progress.

Requirements for SEMH TA:

  • Previous experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, calm, and supportive approach.
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years (with no unexplained gaps).
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
