Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA)
Location: Doncaster
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to support pupils in a specialist provision based in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students who require consistent, tailored emotional and academic support.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and other professionals to support pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement in the classroom.
Responsibilities as a SEMH TA:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and emotional well-being.
- Assist in managing challenging behaviours in a calm and consistent manner.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
- Contribute to individual learning and behaviour plans.
Requirements for SEMH TA:
- Previous experience supporting SEMH or challenging behaviour is essential.
- A patient, calm, and non-judgemental approach to behaviour management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years (with no unexplained gaps).
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
