GSL Education are currently recruiting for a proactive and organised Attendance Officer to work in a supportive school environment in Chesterfield. This full-time role involves working closely with pupils, families, and school staff to improve attendance rates through in-school monitoring and off-site home visits.

Role Overview:
As an Attendance Officer, you will be responsible for tracking and analysing attendance data, conducting home visits where necessary, and working with families to identify barriers to attendance. You will play a key part in ensuring pupils are supported and safeguarded through regular attendance.

Responsibilities as an Attendance Officer :

  • Monitor and analyse attendance data to identify trends and concerns.
  • Conduct home visits to engage families and address barriers to attendance.
  • Work closely with school staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Promote positive attendance habits and follow school policy for unauthorised absence.

Requirements for Attendance Officer:

  • In-depth knowledge of school attendance policies and procedures.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a school or education setting (attendance or pastoral preferred).
  • Confidence to conduct home visits and represent the school professionally.
  • Full UK driving license with business insurance (essential).
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years (with no unexplained gaps).
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
