Learning Support Assistant – Full Time

GSL Education is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in Fareham. This is a full-time, term-time only position, perfect for someone with a caring nature, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll be working closely with teaching staff and the SEN department to support students who need additional help in the classroom. Your work will directly impact student engagement, progress, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs across a range of subjects and year groups
- Foster positive relationships to build student confidence and self-esteem
- Assist with learning activities in both classroom and small group settings
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions
- Provide support for students with physical, learning, or emotional needs
- Encourage independence and promote a positive learning environment
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with secondary-aged pupils, ideally in an educational or care setting
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting learners
- A genuine interest in making a difference in young people’s lives
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- A willingness to undertake relevant training
