Job Title: Design & Technology Teacher
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £38,766 - £60,092 per annum (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025

A forward-thinking and inclusive school in Tower Hamlets is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher with a specialist in Textiles to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring creativity into the classroom and lead engaging, hands-on learning experiences in a well-resourced department.
Key Responsibilities of the DT Teacher:
- Deliver high-quality DT lessons with a strong focus on textiles across KS3–KS4 (and potentially KS5).
- Inspire students to develop technical, creative, and critical-thinking skills.
- Plan, prepare, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop/classroom environment.
- Support departmental development and contribute to curriculum planning.
- Encourage student participation in competitions, exhibitions, and extracurricular activities related to design and textiles.
Requirements of the DT Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Degree in DT/Textiles or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching DT with a specialist in Textiles in UK secondary schools.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Passion for creativity, innovation, and design education.
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
