Job Title: Year 6 Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Stockport
Salary: Salary: £18,000 - £22,000 (depending on experience)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Audenshaw is seeking an experienced and dedicated Year 6 Teaching Assistant with a strong background in SEMH support. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of pupils preparing for secondary school.
Key Responsibilities of the Year 6 Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils in Year 6 with SEMH needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning and emotional regulation strategies.
- Foster a positive, calm, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support transitions and preparations for secondary school
- Implement behaviour plans and promote positive emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers, and external agencies when required.
Requirements of the Year 6 Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Proven experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs in a school setting.
- Previous work in a KS2 classroom, ideally Year 6.
- Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
- Empathetic, patient, and resilient approach to support.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, SEN or SEMH training) is desirable.
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
