Requirements for Behaviour Teaching Assistant role:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with behavioural challenges or emotional needs
  • Be calm, patient, and resilient with a positive, proactive attitude
  • Be passionate about inclusive education and youth development
  • Have experience working in education, youth work, psychology, or care settings (desirable)

Responsibilities of a Behaviour Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with challenging behaviour, Autism, and mental health needs
  • Help promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and a safe learning space
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to provide consistent, tailored support
  • Play a vital role in boosting confidence, well-being, and academic progress
  • Ideal for psychology, education, or health-related graduates looking to develop a career in teaching, child psychology, or youth work

To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you should: 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
