We’re seeking a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) for a vibrant SEMH/ASC specialist secondary school in Wokingham (postcode RG40 2HR – please enter this in the location field). This is a full-time, permanent leadership post offering TLR, CPD, and strong team collaboration.

Responsibilities of the SENCO:

Lead and develop the SEND policy and provision across the school

Oversee EHCP implementation and annual reviews for SEMH/ASC students

Support, mentor and line-manage support staff and teaching team

Liaise with parents, agencies, local authority (Wokingham SENCO Hub) and therapists

Monitor SEND data and drive targeted interventions and outcomes
Essential criteria:
-
Qualified Teacher Status and SENCO National Award – essential

Proven experience leading SEMH/ASC provision in a UK setting

Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and multi-agency protocols

Excellent communication, data-analysis, and team leadership skills

Passionate about inclusive education and emotional wellbeing
