Job Title: Pastoral Lead
Location: Hope
Salary Range: £100 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Role Overview:

As a Pastoral Lead, you will take the lead on supporting students’ social, emotional, and mental well-being. You will be a key figure in building strong relationships with students, families, and staff to ensure that every child receives the care and guidance they need to succeed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and deliver comprehensive pastoral care strategies tailored to individual and group needs.
  • Offer one-to-one mentoring and small-group support sessions focused on emotional resilience, behaviour management, and personal development.
  • Work proactively to improve attendance and reduce barriers to learning, ensuring all students feel included and engaged.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safeguarding concerns, maintaining detailed and confidential records in line with policy.
  • Support staff in implementing effective behaviour management approaches across the school.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, parents, and carers to develop holistic support plans for students.
  • Promote a school-wide culture of respect, kindness, and well-being through targeted initiatives and events.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support when necessary, ensuring student safety and emotional security.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a pastoral, behaviour support, or youth work role within an educational or community setting.
  • Deep understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures and a commitment to upholding them.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people and adults alike.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Passion for making a positive difference in students’ lives, promoting inclusivity and equity.
  • Experience developing and delivering intervention programmes and pastoral initiatives.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
