Job Title: Pastoral Lead
Location: Stanley
Salary Range: £100 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and empathetic Pastoral Lead to join a vibrant school community in Stanley. This is an impactful role for someone who wants to guide students in building resilience, confidence, and a positive outlook on their educational journey.
Role Overview:
As a Pastoral Lead, you will play a central role in nurturing students' emotional and social development. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide proactive support, manage behaviour, and ensure all pupils feel valued and understood. Your work will be vital in helping students overcome personal barriers and flourish both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on pastoral care initiatives, promoting a culture of kindness, respect, and inclusion throughout the school.
- Deliver targeted one-to-one and group interventions to support emotional well-being and manage behavioural challenges.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance and student engagement.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for students and families, offering guidance and practical support when needed.
- Monitor safeguarding concerns and maintain up-to-date, accurate records in line with school policies.
- Work closely with external agencies and support services to coordinate comprehensive care plans for individual students.
- Support staff with behaviour management techniques and the development of positive classroom environments.
- Contribute to whole-school well-being strategies and assist in organising pastoral events and workshops.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a pastoral, behaviour support, or mentoring role within an educational environment.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection frameworks.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, patience, and discretion.
- Passion for supporting young people to overcome social, emotional, or behavioural barriers.
- Ability to design and deliver effective intervention programmes tailored to individual needs.
- Experience working collaboratively with external agencies and a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
