Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Bentley
Salary Range: £95 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive and nurturing school community in Bentley. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on students' lives by helping them develop essential life skills and a positive mindset.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work one-to-one and in small groups with students who face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Your focus will be on building strong, trusting relationships, helping pupils understand their emotions, and guiding them toward positive behaviours both in and out of the classroom.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students exhibiting behavioural difficulties.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support classroom learning and emotional regulation.
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships to encourage positive change in behaviour and mindset.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to develop and apply personalised support plans.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to staff and parents.
  • Promote a calm and structured learning environment across the school day.
  • Act as a role model for pupils, demonstrating appropriate behaviours, language, and interactions.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience supporting young people with behavioural or SEMH needs in an educational, youth work, or care setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and a restorative approach to conflict resolution.
  • A patient, non-judgmental attitude and ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly.
  • Willingness to work flexibly across classrooms and breakout spaces.
  • Resilience and consistency when dealing with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
