Role: Food and Nutrition Teacher

Location: Tower Hamlets E3 3LF

Basis: Full-time 5 days per week

School Hours: 8.30am-4.30pm

 

We are seeking an experienced Food and Nutrition Teacher to join this excellent SEMH Secondary school based in Tower Hamlets. They work with students who come from vulnerable backgrounds and work with them to create paths to a bright future. This role will be full-time, the main role will involve teaching Food and Nutrition to KS3 and KS4 classes, and covering other lessons with support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering Food and Nutrition lessons that meet the curriculum specification
  • Supporting students through inclusive and differentiated teaching
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to support exam preparation
  • Covering other lessons with support from school staff


Essential:

  • A recognised teaching qualification i.e. Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience delivering GCSE Food and Nutrition
  • Ability to create a structured and inclusive learning environmen
    • t for SEMH students
    • Commitment to supporting student wellbeing and adapting to individual learning needs

    Desirable:

    • Experience in specialist or alternative education settings
    • Understanding of social, emotional and mental health needs
    • Familiarity with therapeutic or trauma-informed approaches to teaching
