Job Title: SEMH Secondary Teacher
Location: High Peak, SK23
Salary: £150 – £230 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Secondary Teacher to work in a specialist provision based in High Peak, SK23. This is a full-time opportunity where a Math’s specialism is welcomed, offering the chance to support students who respond best to a patient and flexible teaching approach.
Role Overview:
As a SEMH Secondary Teacher, you will be teaching secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a supportive and well-structured setting. You’ll adapt your teaching to meet individual needs, promote positive behaviour, and build trusting relationships that help students engage meaningfully with their education.
Responsibilities as SEMH Secondary Teacher:
- Deliver lessons tailored for students with SEMH needs.
- Manage behaviour to keep the classroom positive and safe.
- Build supportive relationships to help student growth.
- Work with staff and outside agencies to support pupils.
- Track progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
We are looking for a SEMH Secondary Teacher who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised in the UK.
- Has experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a secondary setting.
- Is confident delivering subject content, ideally with a specialist in Maths.
- Possesses excellent behaviour management and behavioural support skills.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and business insurance, due to potential travel between provisions.
- Can provide a full, up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years with any employment gaps clearly explained.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or is willing to apply for one).
