Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA)
Location: Stocksbridge

Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Stocksbridge area.

In this role you’ll provide personalised 1:1 and small group support, help pupils manage their emotions and behaviours, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities as a SEMH TA:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs both individually and in small groups.
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional support strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and staff to meet pupil needs.
  • Monitor progress and wellbeing, maintaining accurate records.

Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or similar needs.
  • Empathy, patience, and flexibility.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Up-to-date CV with any gaps explained.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
