Key Responsibilities

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a crucial role in helping students develop both academically and personally. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group assistance tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Support students in developing essential life and vocational skills.
  • Encourage participation in community-based learning and social activities.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to implement individual learning plans.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating space for learning.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to student reviews and planning.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with SEN, particularly in a post-16 setting.
  • A caring, patient, and understanding approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues.
  • A collaborative mindset and a positive attitude.
  • Relevant training or qualifications in education or SEN support are desirable.
