Job Title: Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Chesterfield. This full-time role is ideal for someone with a calm, patient approach and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
About Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA):
You will work on a one-to-one or small group basis with pupils who have SEMH needs, providing consistent support both in and out of the classroom. You’ll also collaborate closely with teachers and pastoral staff to help students engage with learning and develop positive routines.
Responsibilities for Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Support students with SEMH needs in class and during structured activities.
- Help manage behaviour in a supportive and non-confrontational way.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Assist with implementing behaviour support plans and interventions.
- Provide transport support when required (business insurance essential).
What You’ll Need as a Primary SEMH TA:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (preferred but not essential).
- A caring, proactive, and adaptable approach..
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A full UK driving licence and business insurance (essential).
- An up-to-date CV and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
