Secondary Teaching Assistant – Sheffield
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: £85 – £100 per day

Are you passionate about helping students achieve their full potential in a secondary school environment? GSL Education is currently looking for enthusiastic and committed Secondary Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of pupils at Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities of a Secondary Teaching Assistant:

Provide one-to-one and small group support, helping students stay focused and make progress

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of subjects

Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN), behavioural challenges, or additional learning needs

Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

Encourage students’ confidence, participation, and independence in their learning

Supervise pupils during non-lesson times, including breaks and school activities
Requirements for a Secondary Teaching Assistant:

Experience working with young people in a secondary school or similar setting
-
A good understanding of SEN, Autism, ADHD, and behaviour management strategies is desirable

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting learning

Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
