Learning Support Assistant
Location: Hull
Salary: £89 – £105 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to pupils, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom. You may work with individuals or small groups, including pupils with additional or special educational needs.

To be a successful LSA, your responsibilities will be:

  • Support pupils during classroom activities to promote focus and understanding
  • Provide one-to-one or small group assistance based on pupil needs
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and other targeted interventions
  • Promote positive behaviour and inclusion in the learning environment
  • Assist the class teacher with preparing resources and maintaining classroom organisation
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents where appropriate
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold all school safeguarding procedures

LSA Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting as a Learning Support Assistant or similar is desirable
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) is advantageous
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to learning support
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A good understanding of child development and learning needs
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education
