Designated Safeguarding Lead
Location: Haringey
Salary: £100 - £180 per day
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Long-term
GSL Education London is currently looking for an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to join a friendly and supportive girls' secondary school in the heart of Haringey. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to play a key role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students within a vibrant school community.
As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will be the first point of contact for all safeguarding concerns, working closely with staff, parents, external agencies, and students to uphold the highest standards of child protection.

Responsibilities:

Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring all safeguarding and child protection policies are followed

Provide advice, support, and training to staff on safeguarding matters

Make referrals to external agencies such as children’s social care, and attend multi-agency meetings

Keep accurate records of safeguarding concerns and outcomes

Support a safe school culture where all students feel valued and protected
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead or in a safeguarding-focused role within a school

Strong understanding of current safeguarding and child protection legislation

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A relevant safeguarding qualification or training is desirable
